Great ! :o)

Côté qualitatif, 45 bobines sortent du lot (Le Lac aux Oies Sauvages, Le Mans 66, Joker,...), 46 se laissent regarder sans être inoubliables (Music of my Life, X-Men : Dark Phoenix, It Must be Heaven,...), et 15 sont de purs déchets (Black Christmas, Countdown, The Dead don't Die,...).

Route 666 - Roger Zelazny

[ Récupéré de G+ ]

After finishing The Girl with all the Gifts I randomly chose this one. Well, "randomly"... Let's say I liked the cover illustration by Daarken and I trusted the name of the author. The novel is quite short (220 pages), and is set in the USA years after the country underwent a nuclear holocaust. The main character, Hell Tanner, drives an armored car through a radioactive wasteland in order to deliver vaccines from the west to the east coast. This is a post-apocalyptic race à la Mad Max, with dirt, gigantic storms, biological abominations, criminals... It goes fast, too fast... With no real plot behind the race... I was expecting more than something equivalent to a simple B-movie...

Download Festival - Pas en 2020 ! :-/

Wait'n'see la future nouvelle formule... :-?

The Girl with all the Gifts / Celle qui a tous les Dons - M.R.Carey

[ Récupéré de G+ ]

The Girl with all the Gifts / Cella qui a tous les Dons by M.R.Carey - If you like the movie directed by Colm McCarthy which is based on this novel, no doubt you will enjoy the reading. If not, I bet there are chances you get caught by the text which is quite a page-turner. One of my favorite readings of the year so far. Yup.

Powerwolf - Bataclan - 25/10/2018

[ Récupéré de G+ ]

Yesterday evening Powerwolf did deliver a great show @ Le Bataclan (Paris). At the end, I felt my batteries were totally reloaded so to say ! \m/ [ Seriously, if you ever want to see what a power metal show can be, see these guys live in such a theater ! ]

Short video, intense memories ! \m/ Powerwolf - "Wolfsnächte Tour 2018 - PARIS 25.10.2018" => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHL9YDp4q7Q
.
In addition there were two opening bands, Kissin' Dynamite & Amaranthe.
.
Kissin' Dynamite => Some german glam metal band just like any other. Sadly there was no sound from the guitar player on the left, so I kinda had the feeling he was playing air guitar... ^^
.
Amaranthe => I must confess I had some preconceived ideas about their style, but in the end I was quite pleased with their mixing pop / metal / melodic / clean voice / grunts. In short, another nice piece from Sweden !

2033 / Metro 2033 / Métro 2033 - Dmitry Glukhovsky

[ Récupéré de G+ ]

2033 / Metro 2033 / Métro 2033 is a post-apocalyptic novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky which I read last summer. It is set 15 years in the future under the assumption that the wold underwent a nuclear holocaust decades ago, and the action takes place in the Moscow metro where the survivors relocated. I liked the overall idea of a new society emerging from the ashes of our world, even though the timescale from the disaster seemed too short to me to allow the stations to develop such distinct organizations and Nature to give birth to evolved biological abomnations. That being said, I enjoyed the reading, and I think there is lots to think about the ending, especially when I see the world today. I'm not gonna spoil it though. If you enjoy such novels, you should have a look at this one.
.
Right after Metro 2033 I read the first sequel Метро 2034 / Metro 2034 / Métro 2034, which is shorter (500 pages vs 850 fort the first opus). It was a bit harder to get into the book, not sure why. Maybe because the protagonists where not exactly the same. Maybe should I have read another book in between. Maybe... Don't know. Anyway, I'm waiting for the paperback edition of the second sequel, Метро 2035 / Metro 2035 / Métro 2035, and I'm gonna read it as soon as it is available !
